Enhanced Records Page

We’re excited to announce that the Records page on QuranRecord has been revamped for a more comprehensive view! Teachers, school management, and parents can now easily see detailed information about each student’s recitation. This includes the number of lines recited, the number of pages covered, and the specific juz and portions within it, along with start and end points. The design matches the existing look of QuranJourney.

Please read the notes at the bottom of the Records page to understand what each option means and how to correctly interpret the record. This will be used throughout QuranRecord in the future.

Thanks,
The QuranRecord Team

QuranJourney — The Heart of QuranRecord

  • QuranJourney — The Heart of QuranRecord
    • QuranJourney is one of the most powerful and exciting features in QuranRecord. With just a single click, it presents a student’s recitation as a continuous Quranic journey, instead of scattered daily records.
    • It gives management, teachers, and parents a clear and complete picture of the student’s progress, completion, repetitions, and even missing records — all in one place.
    • What makes QuranJourney special is that it connects everything. Whether a student reads verses, pages, quarters, halves, or parts of a Juz on different days, QuranJourney intelligently merges them into one connected flow.
  • How QuranJourney Connects the Recitation
    • QuranJourney combines recitations recorded across multiple days and sessions and displays them as a single completed segment, exactly how the Quran is meant to be read — continuously and meaningfully.
    • Even if a student reads small portions at a time, QuranJourney joins them together and shows the true progress, not just individual entries.
  • Examples
    • Verses:
      • A student reads Surah Al-Fātiḥah (1:1–3) on Monday, 1:4–5 on Wednesday, and 1:6–7 on Friday.
      • QuranJourney merges all of this and displays 1:1–1:7 as completed, showing the Surah as one continuous recitation.
    • Quarters and Parts:
      • A student recites quarter 2 of Juz 10 on one day, quarter 3 on another day, and quarter 4 later.
      • QuranJourney merges all parts and shows Juz 10 as completed, even though it was recited in multiple sessions.
    • Juz Recitation Count:
      • If a student recites a Juz or part more than once, QuranJourney displays it as 1x, 2x, 3x…, clearly showing how many times each Juz has been recited.
    • Pages and Lines:
      • QuranJourney tracks the number of pages recited and automatically calculates partial pages based on lines.
      • Example: one record with 2 pages and 10 lines and another with 1 page and 5 lines is combined and rounded as 4 pages (Othmani) or 15 lines (Indo-Pak).
    • Days:
      • Displays the total number of days the teacher added recitation records for the student under the selected recitation method.
  • Access and Download
    • Parents can view QuranJourney directly from the student’s profile using the QuranJourney button.
    • Teachers and management can access it from the student profile or the class dashboard.
    • QuranJourney can be filtered for a single student, multiple students, or all students at once.
    • Teachers can download QuranJourney as an PDF file to share with parents or keep for official records.
  • Why QuranJourney Matters
    • When records are entered correctly with no missing gaps, QuranRecord proudly displays a “Quran Completed” tag beside the student’s name.
    • QuranJourney turns fragmented data into a clear, inspiring, and trustworthy journey, helping students stay motivated and parents stay confident.
    • This level of clarity and perfection is only possible with QuranRecord.

QuranRecord Update – Unique Student (QRID) Enhancement

We have improved the QuranRecord Unique Student Concept using the QRID.

Now, when a student moves from one branch or school to another, the controller of the new school can view the student’s previous school profile in read-only mode. This ensures that past records remain visible for reference while maintaining data integrity and privacy.

Some schools are already merged and managed as branches. When a student moves from one branch to another, the new branch will see the student profile marked as “Network Student”, which means the profile belongs to the student’s previous school or branch.

All of this works using a single QRID, so the student’s history stays connected across branches and schools without creating duplicate profiles.

Important Notes:

  • Student profiles from previous schools are read-only.
  • New schools or branches can continue records using the same QRID.
  • The “Network Student” label helps identify profiles from past branches or schools.

If your school has multiple branches and you would like to connect them together, please contact QuranRecord with your school name. We can network your schools so student profiles and records remain properly linked across branches.

To help you understand this feature better, we have added a YouTube playlist that explains the complete Unique Student (QRID) system step by step.

School-Based Attendance Options

You can now add custom, school-based attendance options when taking attendance.

In addition to the default options (Present, Absent, and Excused), schools can add up to five custom options based on their requirements, such as Late, Tardy, or any other status.

To set up attendance options for your school, log in as a Controller, go to the School Dashboard, and select the new Attendance Options button.

Add the option name and an optional note explaining its meaning.

Example:

  • Option Name: Late
  • Note: The student arrived late to the class or to the school.

When teachers take attendance, these additional options will appear in a dropdown list under the Flag column.

Whenever a teacher applies a flag to a student, parents will be notified by SMS, email, and in-app notification, based on the notification settings configured by the school.

Class-Based Attendance Settings

Schools now have the option to enable or disable attendance per class.

If your school takes attendance only in the first class, or if you have a class where attendance is not required, you can simply disable attendance for that class.

To disable attendance, log in as a Controller, open the class you want to update, click Manage Class, and uncheck Enable Attendance.

Once attendance is disabled:

  • It will no longer be visible to teachers or parents.
  • It will not appear in missing records on either the Class Dashboard or the School Dashboard.

English Numbers in Arabic and Urdu Templates

English numbers (1, 2, 3, …) are now used across all Arabic and Urdu templates in QuranRecord.

Even when you switch the language to Arabic or Urdu, you will continue to see English numbers. This change is intentional and is aimed at making QuranRecord easier to use for the maximum number of users.

Many users access QuranRecord in Arabic or Urdu even though they are from non-Arabic or non-Urdu countries. While they can read and understand the language, they may not be familiar with local Arabic numeral systems.

Arabic numbers are not the same everywhere and can vary by region. At the moment, we cannot provide different Arabic numeral formats based on each user’s country. To avoid confusion and maintain consistency, we have decided to use English numbers as the default for Arabic and Urdu interfaces.

Examples:

  • Attendance Day: 1, 2, 3
  • Page Number: 5
  • Student Count: 20

Using English numbers ensures that almost everyone using QuranRecord in Arabic or Urdu can clearly understand dates, counts, and records without confusion.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to improve accessibility and usability for all users.

JazakAllah Khair.
